Derby Daily Express, 8th September 1914 'Amongst the list of missing from HMS Pathfinder, which was lost as the result of striking a mine in the North Sea, is the name of Harry Webster, electrical artificer, 2nd Class, of Gillingham, Kent. Mr. Webster is the son of Mr. Henry Webster, tailor, of Wolfa Street, Derby, and has a wife and daughter. As a youth he was apprenticed with Messrs. John Davis and Son, All Saints Works, Derby, and later went to the British Thomson, Houston Company, Rugby, and for further experience to Newcastle and Liverpool. He then succeeded in passing his artificer's examination, and served on HMS Tyne. On the outbreak of war he was lent to HMS Pathfinder, and was on board the cruiser during the time she succeeded in eluding part of the German fleet in an exciting chase across the North Sea. Mr. Webster is 32 years of age.'
